When Steve Thornton began building a backyard ninja warrior rig for his grandsons more than ten years ago, he could not have foreseen where it would take them. Both boys had a penchant for running, jumping, and climbing, and the elder grandson, Elijah Browning, had made up his mind at a very young age to one day compete on the NBC show American Ninja Warrior.
Thornton tapped into his 40 years of experience in residential and commercial construction and started building a place for his grandsons to practice and play. The boys, Elijah and Julian, worked alongside their Papaw learning how to imagine, design, and construct their dream outdoor playground and training center. From a simple salmon ladder to a 14-foot warped wall, the custom ninja warrior rig evolved into what is now a massive, multi-faceted obstacle course.

Elijah "The Boss" Browning would go on to make history as the first teen to appear on American Ninja Warrior and one of only four teens to finish in the top ten of season 13. Browning appeared most recently on season 14 of the show and has plans to return again in 2023.
What started as a joke among his childhood friends, Browning's nickname "The Boss" foretold his future as a young entrepreneur. Along with his Papaw, he envisioned a company that would bring the same fun and endless hours of playtime that he's enjoyed to kids all over Middle Tennessee (and beyond).

Boss Ninja Builds designs and constructs custom ninja warrior rigs in backyards and indoor spaces for people of all ages.
Why should you consider a custom ninja rig in YOUR backyard?
1. It is customizable.
Not everyone NEEDS an 18-foot warped wall in their backyard. Boss Ninja Builds will consider the size of your outdoor or indoor area and design a structure that works for your space.

Ninja warrior rigs can be tailored to your kids' ages, interests, and skills. One kid might want traditional swings and monkey bars while another wants a course that looks more like the obstacles seen in the actual TV show (psst... they can have both!).
2. It grows with your child.
Unlike a pre-fabricated playhouse that children quickly outgrow, Boss Ninja Builds can add to an existing ninja warrior rig as your kids get older to make the obstacles more challenging and fun.

3. It encourages active play.
Because of its versatility, your kids will never get bored of a ninja warrior rig. They will spend hours in the backyard (or indoor space) dreaming up new obstacles and ways to play! The health benefits of a ninja warrior rig are endless; they promote strength, balance, coordination, endurance, confidence, and FUN!
