What is it about fall and apple cider that makes you feel all warm and cozy inside? Visiting an apple orchard in the fall can be a fun and exciting tradition to create with your kids. Here are three of the best apple orchards we feel good about recommending: one nearby in Nolensville, one a little further in Mt. Juliet, TN, and one that will be a day trip to Kentucky. Take your pick or visit all three to decide on your favorite!
Morning Glory Orchards
7690 Nolensville Rd, Nolensville, TN 37135
Morning Glory Orchard in Nolensville, TN is a small, second-generation family farm offering peaches, apples, local honey, homegrown vegetables, jams, preserves, cider, and fresh baked goods. They will be open Tuesdays-Saturdays from 9:00-5:00, September 6th-October 29.
While not a u-pick orchard, self-guided tours are available daily in October from 9am-3pm. (Only during the week, not on Saturdays). They also do fantastic Picnics in the Orchard on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays by reservation only. The orchard will provide everything you need for a wonderful evening out. They will put together a custom charcuterie box, cider slushies, samples from their store, fresh fruit, bug spray and more! Reservations are limited to no more than 12 tables per night so it is an exclusive event!
Morning Glory Orchard is also home to the annual Tennessee Apple and All Things Fall Festival taking place on October 8, 2022.
Breeden's Orchard
631 Beckwith Rd Mount Juliet, TN 37122
Located in Mt. Juliet, this peach and apple orchard sells baked goods, hosts story times, and raises a few farm animals. Details on u-pick days are yet to come.
Jackson's Orchard
1280 Slim Island Rd, Bowling Green, Kentucky 42101
Jackson's Orchard is a little less than two hours away, depending on which part of Williamson County you are coming from, but we had to add this one to our list simply because of its popularity. In addition to their farm store, select u-pick dates, and Pumpkin Festival (select days in October), this orchard also features a playground for kids ages 4+ for only $3 each for all-day play.
