I am a retired nurse and in 2018, I quit my job as a Senior Project Manager. I was overworked, stressed, and unhappy. Soon after, I started working as a freelance consultant while homeschooling my youngest child. I also found time to learn furniture restoration for fun and discovered I actually loved it. For a year, I restored and repainted many pieces of furniture and began selling my work and taking custom orders. I took art classes and learned different techniques for painting on canvas and wood. I taught myself painting and sewing, and I believe that you never know what you are capable of until you try. I love encouraging others to step out of their comfort zone and try something new.
We are all capable of creating beautiful things and unless you give yourself the opportunity, you may never realize it. As moms, we are so overworked, under-appreciated and feel guilty for wanting "me time.' This year, choose to be kind and considerate to your needs, both physical and mental. I escaped the mundane, day-to-day of always working to make a living and a future, but never really enjoying the present. That is why I called my business Creative Escape Paint Parties. It gives people of all ages an opportunity to escape the ordinary, be creative, and enjoy the moment.
5. Where can we buy your products or services?
You can book a paint party and buy paint kits at www.cepaintparties.com.
6. How do you balance work and life? Or DO YOU? :)

It is an everyday challenge because as a small business owner, trying to grow and run a business is a lot of work. I live by my planner to stay on track and have found that blocking out certain days or even half days for family or me time helps a lot. Also, I include my family in my business whenever I can. They help set up and clean up at my big events, and my youngest is my assistant at all kids' birthday parties. One of my daughters is a face painter and teams up with me at big face painting events. We may not always be relaxing and having fun when we are together, but being together is what keeps us close and balanced.
Tell us your favorite places in Williamson County to:
EAT: One of our favorite places to eat is Burger Up in Franklin, TN. They have the best burgers and fried pickles.
DRINK: I love the nutrition shakes at Rock the Hill Nutrition in Spring Hill, TN.
PLAY: I love window-shopping in Downtown Franklin and then stopping by the bookstore or maybe Kilwin's for some ice cream.
Thank you, Isabelle!
