Leaf peeping in Franklin and Spring Hill

Radnor Lake

1160 Otter Creek Road, Nashville, TN 37220

Details: Go hiking or walk the paved loop with the kids and view the beautiful changing of the leaves around the lake.

Natchez Trace Parkway & Garrison Creek Trail

From Franklin: Access from Hwy. 96

From Spring Hill: Access from Hwy. 46 (via 840)

From Columbia: Access from Hwy. 7

Details: The Natchez Trace Parkway spans 444 miles from Natchez, MS to Nashville, TN. There are several access points to the Trace in Williamson and Maury Counties and a variety of sites to see depending on which section you're driving. You can drive your family along the Trace, never get out of the car, and still see gorgeous scenery as well as the idyllic town of Lieper's Fork. However, if you'd like to get out of the car, we suggest stopping for a family hike at Garrison Creek. The trails at Garrison Creek are fairly easy and best for children over 3-years-old. If the weather is nice, you can dip your toes in the creek and hunt for minnows at the end of your hike.

Timberland Park

Natchez Trace Parkway at mile marker 437.2 (South of the SR Highway 96 entrance), Franklin, TN 37064

Details: Like Garrison Creek, Timberland Park can be found along Natchez Trace Highway. This park features lots of easy, wooded trails, including an ADA accessible trail, for hiking and viewing the changing leaves.
