June 3, 2021

Every Thursday, Macaroni Kid Franklin shares five things to do with your kids in Williamson County over the coming week.

It’s June. The kids are out of school. Businesses are opening back up to full or almost full capacity. In short, lots of things are happening and we’re so excited. Here are my top 5 picks for things to do in Williamson County the week of June 4 to June 11. Click on the links for all the details!

1. Food Truck Fridays @ Arrington Vineyards

June 4 - A fun family event, Food Truck Fridays will take place all summer and into early fall. There will be different food trucks each week. You can also bring in your own food and just enjoy the atmosphere (no outside wine permitted). There will be live music. There will be people. There will be fun.

2. Kids Construction Fun @ Lucky Ladd Farms

June 5 - Your kids will be able to climb on actual construction vehicles and participate in some hands-on construction-related activities. This will be an outdoor, socially distanced event, so you can feel good about attending safely.

3. Art in the Park w/ TN Art Yard

June 6 - Local artist and teacher, Lacy, leads this fairly new monthly event that takes place at Sarah Benson Park in Thomspon's Station. You and your kids will get to do some fun arts and crafts with other families in the shade of the stage pavilion. Be prepared to get messy!

4. Take-and-Make Crafts from Spring Hill Library

June 7-10 - Who says you need go to anywhere at all to have fun with your kids? Spring Hill Library has been handing out some really creative and fun take-and-make crafts over the past year and they are continuing to do so over the summer. These have been a life saver for us on rainy days! Go in on Mondays to grab your kit (while supplies last) and put it together with your child at home. Be sure to pick up the Summer Reading Program while you're there!

5. Open Play @ Shining Light Gymnastics

June 9 & 11 - Let your kids run wild while you stand there and chat with fellow parents. Shining Light provides a clean, safe environment for kids to test out their agility and just get their wiggles out!

These are just a FEW of the many things that I'm adding to my calendar, folks. Things are ramping up for the summer and there's going to be so much to do. Stay tuned!
