Growing in Confidence and Faith at Deer Run Camp

My Daughter's Top 3 Favorite Parts of Camp

1. The Lake

2. The Playground

3. The Creek

This year marks my daughter's third year as a camper at Deer Run. For the past several months, she's talked of little else. She couldn't wait to return and do the zipline and Wet Willie at the lake again. I asked her to pick her top 3 favorite parts of Deer Run Camp. After a lot of thought and telling me how she loves ALL aspects of camp, she decided on the three activities listed above. See the video to hear why!

She also really enjoyed the Bible study this year. Each day, she came home and told me how they learned about a different part of the Armor of God.

Deer Run Camp is a 5-day non-denominational Christian camp, located in Thompson's Station on 100 acres of gorgeous scenic wooded property. The camp takes place Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. (before and after care available) On the first day, you sign in your camper and walk over to the Fortress, where the day's activities begin and end, to meet her counselor for the week. At sign in, each camper receives a wristband to signify which group they are in for the week. Campers rotate between a series of activities, such as archery, carpetball, BB guns, nine-square-in-the-air, tetherball and more!

This year, my daughter was in the sea foam green rabbit group. She didn't know as many people this session as the past couple of years, but came home excited about all of the new friends she made at camp! She also loves to share new skills she learns at camp, such as riding pedal carts and making it to the top of the climbing wall. Each year, she leaves camp more confident than when she entered.

Each day camp session may only last 5 days, but the memories will last for a lifetime!
