Williamson County Parks and Recreation has teamed up with a group of first responders from Williamson County to host a Water Safety Day on Friday, May 24 th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the outdoor pool of the Longview Recreation Center at Spring Hill, 2909 Commonwealth Drive. This is a community educational event to promote water safety and first aid emergency preparedness to children through demonstrations and games.
Participants ages 4-15 will learn how to recognize the signs of drowning and the "Reach or Throw, Don't Go" American Red Cross technique of assisting a drowning person. They will also be introduced to how police and firemen respond to emergencies and much more. Parent/guardians are required to stay and encouraged to participate, so bring your suit, towel and sunscreen for this event.
