Would your child like to form a closer connection with the natural world and learn more about protecting area wildlife? Williamson County Parks and Recreation is pleased to announce a new Budding Naturalist program at Timberland Park. Kids ages 7 to 12 are invited to join the fun in a 4-week program, meeting on Saturdays, March 10-31, from noon to 2:00 p.m.

Students will meet in the park’s interpretive center. Plans include supervised hikes throughout the park, learning about area wildlife, bird identification, animal habitats, hiking hazards, conservation and more. At the completion of the course, students will graduate and receive a Budding Naturalist certificate. To register, go to www.wcparksandrec.com, activity #11688 ($16 for the 4-week course). Space is limited.

Timberland Park is a 72-acre rustic wooded preserve located at mile marker 437.2 on the historic Natchez Trace Parkway, south of the Highway 96 entrance.
