My 4-year-old loves everything princess related. She sings "Let it Go" constantly and can recite whole scenes from her favorite movies. Needless to say, she was super excited to hear about a new Sofia the First movie and I was excited to have the opportunity to host a preview party of Sofia the First: The Curse of Princess Ivy.

My daughter and several other little princesses and princes enjoyed a fun-filled morning featuring Sofia related crafts, such as Sofia activity mats and stickers, butterfly clips and tiaras. Everyone then sat down to enjoy the 45-minute movie.

Sofia the First: The Curse of Princess Ivy features princesses Sofia and Amber on a mission to get Sofia's amulet back from Princess Ivy, who wants to take over the kingdom of Enchancia and turns everything black and white. Can the girls bring color back to the kingdom wiith some help from Rapunzel?

The movie was very engaging and kept the attention of most of the kids. One reason I love the Sofia movies/tv episodes is for the lessons they teach, such as being a good friend, being honest and being kind to others. This one focuses on working together to solve a problem and putting others ahead of yourself.

See pics from the party in our Facebook gallery.

Sofia the First: The Curse of Princess Ivy premieres Sunday, Nov. 23 at 6 p.m. (Central) on Disney Channel. You can have your own family movie night party with fun activities and healthy recipes inspired by the movie.
