Williamson County Parks and Recreation invites you to visit Timberland Park for free family activities in September. Timberland Park is located at mile marker 437.2 on the historic Natchez Trace Parkway, just south of the Highway 96 entrance. The park is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Admission and parking are free. The rustic wooded preserve has a staffed, 2000-square-foot interpretive center and trails for hiking, bird watching and wildlife observation. For more information call (615) 232- 4154.
September 7: Guided Hikes – Join park staff on a guided hike! Learn the natural history of some of the different plant and animal species in the area. 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. ( #12923 ) or 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. ( #12924 ). September 28: Mammal Pelts of Williamson County – Have you ever wanted to feel how soft an otter’s fur is? Or perhaps you want to pet a coyote. Come out to Timberland Park to learn about some of Tennessee’s native mammals and feel their pelts. Free. September 28 from 4:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. For all ages.
