Introducing the Creativity Can

Free Event on June 22!

June 18, 2013
It's usually pretty easy to keep the kids entertained during the first few weeks of summer, especially if you have a pool nearby, but by the time you hit late June/early July, you often start hearing more of the "Mom, I'm bored." Introducing Creativity Can, which offers a great way to keep those creative juices flowing and, best of all, it's absolutely free!

Creativity Can was originally introduced at the Toy Fair NYC earlier this year and has gotten a lot of buzz since. The can and the concept is simple. The can is a small container filled with materials like pipe cleaners, googly eyes and yarn. The concept is to encourage imagination and invention through hands-on activity.

"With information underscoring the importance of creativity, Creativity for Kids is offering the Creativity Can for free to spark a national conversation about why creativity test scores continue to decline each year and how to combat this crisis," said Jamie Gallagher, CEO of Faber-Castell USA, parent company of Creativity for Kids.

On June 22, you have the chance to join other local children for a special "Creative Day" at the Brilliant Sky Toys & Books located in Nashville (2002 Richard Jones Rd - Ste B-100, Nashville, TN 37215). The event will last from 10 am - 2 pm. You can stop by any time to get a Creativity Can for free. Just be sure to visit creativitycan.com and print out a coupon for each child who wishes to participate first.

Each time a creation is uploaded, Creativity for Kids will donate to the LilySarahGraceFund (lilysarahgracefund.org), which is a non-profit aiming to challenge and empower elementary school teachers in underfunded public schools around the nation to teach their academic curriculum through the universal language of the arts and creativity. In addition, those who share their creation online will be eligible to win free Creativity for Kids products. Monthly winners will be randomly selected. Kids can also join the Creativity Club, which is full of great ideas, resources and downloadable activities.
